Diliana is a director and producer from Bulgaria. With a background in dance and choreography, her directing style is visual and can be demonstrated in the emmy-nominated opening title sequence she directed for Fox’s hit series “The New Girl.”
As a first generation immigrant, she gravitates towards narratives that embrace diverse points of view and culturally alienated characters. Diliana has gained critical acclaim with her award-winning short films, including "BLUE MOON" (2022), conceptualized and executed by a predominantly female crew. This film confronts Alzheimer's disease and its impact on an ordinary American family. Her earlier work, "SWEETHEART" (2021) explores the nuances of the female psyche within precarious situations. Diliana directed two episodes of the comedy web series "MARRIAGE OF INCONVENIENCE" (2023) by LGBTQ+ writer/director, Jason Gaffney, streaming on Dekkoo. She is committed to tell stories about marginalized characters in an empowering way, effortlessly weaving together heartfelt drama and side-splitting humor.
Diliana produced the feature film "1-800-HOT NITE" (2022), a coming-of-age story, which premiered at the prestigious Santa Barbara Film Festival and made waves at Deauvilleus, Hartland, and Dances with Films, where it received the Audience Award. It currently streams on Showtime.
Diliana and her husband, Jack Gravina, curate projects spanning multiple genres under their production company Gravina Films. Their groundbreaking Interactive VR horror series, "THE EXORCISM OF ALLIE FAY" (2020), for AmazeVr, received top ratings. They are currently producing a psychological thriller about an Immigrant Chinese family from writer/director Alyce Tzue.
With 12 years of experience, Diliana also has an impressive portfolio of branded work. She has spearheaded hundreds of theatrical marketing campaigns, working with stars such as Natalie Portman, Taika Waititi, Keke Palmer and Jonathan Van Ness. Her collaborations extend to production companies such as Framework Studio, Riverside Entertainment, Stadium, Imposter, BYT, where she integrates popular brands with current film releases from major studios like Universal, New Viacom, Disney, Netflix, and Hulu. With each new project, Diliana strives to increase female representation on set, fostering a warm and familial atmosphere that encourages inclusivity.
